Jon Allen promoted to Managing Director, G4S Risk Management
Jon Allen has worked at G4S Risk Management since 2019 and was appointed Managing Director in August 2022. He brings a wealth of operational, business and leadership experience and an in-depth understanding of the threats and risks that organisations face, especially in challenging environments.
Risk Management is G4S’s specialist protective services business, operating across more than 100 countries. Physical security, aviation security, ordnance management and risk consultancy are just some of the services it provides in hazardous or post conflict-affected areas.
The Ordnance Management business provides highly trained, internationally accredited multi-task teams throughout the world to clear explosive remnants of war in post-conflict countries. Their role forms a critical aspect in all reconstruction, development and humanitarian programmes.
They currently have a 500-strong operation in South Sudan where they are removing landmines and unexploded ordnance from farmland and infrastructure, which in turn helps to protect the community, save lives and bring much needed security to the country.
In Somalia, the Risk Consulting business continues to provide capacity building services and is currently delivering interoperability training to African Transition Mission troops and the Somali Security Forces. All training takes place within the confines of Aden Abdulle International Airport (AAIA) in Mogadishu.
Prior to joining G4S, Jon served in the British Army for 26 years and has held senior director level positions in the private security sector throughout the Middle East and Africa.
