Ashley said G4S employs 300,000 people in India; together with the USA it accounts for half of Allied Universal’s global workforce. He commented that G4S would continue to upskill its workforce and tap into India’s vast talent pool, both male and female.

He added that technology is being used to enhance the capabilities of security officers and that innovation is a key focus for the company. Ashley pointed to the opening of the Security Risk Operations Centre (SROC) in India last year, which he described as a great success.

This combination - skilled personnel and cutting-edge technology - was beneficial to customers and employees alike, Ashley said.

The company’s values were also discussed with Ashley calling out the importance of agility. He noted that responding to customers’ needs is more challenging for large companies but it was a “critical area where we continuously strive to improve and excel.”
