SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT AWARDS MULTI-MILLION POUND ELECTRONIC MONITORING CONTRACT TO G4S

The Scottish Government has awarded a 5-year multi-million pound contract to G4S, to provide electronic monitoring (EM) services across Scotland.
Security Services

EM requires a monitored person to wear a tag which uses Global Positioning System (GPS), Radio Frequency (RF), or Remote Alcohol Monitoring (RAM) technology, and communicates any alerts or movements back to a central monitoring centre.

The technology provided by G4S will enable curfew monitoring at fixed locations for defined periods and continuous tracking using GPS products.

G4S will also operate the monitoring centre using its own software, and provide the field services required to install, decommission and support the technology in use across the country.
