G4S Support UK Charity - Dreamflight
Dreamflight is a UK Charity that supports young children across the UK aged between eight and 14, all of whom either have a serious illness or disability. Each year the charity works with British Airways to take more than 200 children on a truly memorable holiday to Orlando.
To make this trip possible, a huge volunteer team comes together made up of pilots, cabin crew, ground staff, doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and other helpers who look after the children for 10 days. Volunteers and supporters fundraise for the charity year-round, in order to make the trip happen.
G4S is proud to play a part in making the event such a success.
This year’s flight took place on Sunday 15th October when our team came together to provide end to end security services including creating a complex Temporary Critical Part (TCP) to ensure that the children had a smooth, safe and secure passage through the airport to board the flight and that all requirements were successfully fulfilled.
The team was led by Muhammad Furqan, Aviation Security and Compliance Manager who was ably assisted by aviation security experts including Security Manager, Hammad Beg and Duty Operations Managers Nina Jalf and Jaspal Virdee.
Following detailed and meticulous planning in the run up to the big day, the security team provided a series of services including baggage and personnel screening, managing the transportation and escorting of passengers and key staff and aircraft searching and screening. The team were ably assisted on the day by the G4S canine team.
Muhammad Furqan commented; ‘Dreamflight is very close to my heart. I’m grateful to my team who went above and beyond to make the event a success. We felt so privileged to support such a fantastic initiative in collaboration with British Airways.
Our role as security partners is unique. This event demands a perfect blend of hands on customer service with great attention to the safety of everyone involved without compromising the unique and highly regulated principles of Aviation security.
It was wonderful to see the children so excited for what lay ahead. Thank you to everyone involved for making the event so memorable.’
