Carry on Glamping! G4S Channel Islands helps Durrell Wildlife Park win a national tourism award
The annual awards are given to campsites that achieve exceptionally high standards of customer service and presentation throughout their facilities. As part of their contract with Durrell Wildlife Park, G4S CI clean and maintain the ‘glamping’ facilities and fixtures, including the luxurious canvas ‘geo pods’ which provide hotel standard comfort and style in the heart of the wildlife park camping complex.
To shortlist a potential award winner, AA inspectors look at recent improvements and innovations that make the park stand out from other competitors, as well as assessing the overall quality of the park. Key points of interest include cleanliness of public and private washroom facilities, maintenance and availability of amenities, including swimming pools, play areas, reception and the grounds itself. Judges also assess standards of customer service and friendliness of staff.
Ashley Mullins, spokesperson for Durrell Wildlife Camp, said: “As the first ever winner of the AA Glamping Site of the Year, cleaning standards are of the utmost importance to Durrell Wildlife Camp. The glampsite offers many facilities and is a major tourist attraction, so we’re pleased to work in partnership with G4S CI who pride themselves in exceptional levels of cleanliness throughout the seasons. All helping to stake our claim to be the best place to glamp in Jersey, and now the UK! As the largest Channel Island, it is important that businesses contribute positively to Jersey’s reputation.”
Deanne Le Gresley, Managing Director for G4S Channel Islands, added: “This is a great moment for Durrell Wildlife Park and we are delighted that our work has helped to secure this recognition. It will certainly bring further interest to an already popular tourist attraction. I am proud of my team and the exemplary service they deliver at Durrell and further afield.”
