As National Customer Service Director, Mike will lead FM corporate accounts nationally and within the Offshore Islands’ FM and security businesses of Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man. He will also be responsible for the Carbon & Energy Solutions business, reporting directly to Managing Director Peter Jones.

Simon Farmer joins G4S FM from major UK energy company RWE npower, where he was Commercial Sales Manager.

Commenting on the new appointments, G4S FM Managing Director, Peter Jones said “As our business continues to evolve, we need to ensure we have the right people in place to meet our business growth and performance expectations.

“I’m delighted to have Mike Jones and Simon Farmer on board. The UK is a very mature FM market and we benefit from a strong blend of talent mix both by promoting existing directors and recruiting new leaders who add to our culture and service DNA.”

Mike Jones joined G4S FM in 2013 to lead a flagship total facilities management government contract with the Ministry of Justice. He has worked at executive board level in major international service businesses, including five years as MD leading the transformation of facilities management company Romec.

Farmer joins G4S FM from a strong energy background with companies including GSH Group and Inenco Group. He has specific FM sector experience previously as Director of Energy and Sales for Initial Facilities, where he set up a 50 strong energy division from scratch, delivering in house bureau, consultancy and procurement services.

G4S FM delivers a wide range of cost effective, client focused energy and carbon solutions, including procurement specifications, specialist technical advice to help customers reach environmental targets, and end to end energy management and solutions implementation.   Last year the team delivered £4.5m of project work, including LED lighting to over 100 premises, replacement boilers, building management systems optimisation and replacement air handling units.   Annual energy saving totalled 4,935,064 kWh, with 2,689 tonnes Co2 emission reduction .  One single installation of boilers combined with BMS control programming is already showing a 30 per cent reduction in gas consumption.

Simon Farmer added; "I am thrilled to be joining G4S at this exciting time for the FM business, I look forward to working with the team to deliver holistic energy solutions to combat the increasing challenge of energy in the built environment.”
