Joanne Smith joins G4S

G4S has appointed Joanne Smith as its new Regional Human Resources Director for its UK & Ireland region

Joanne will take responsibility for the overall strategic leadership of the Human Resources function for G4S in the UK and Ireland, which has over 48,000 employees managed by more than 50 different businesses over the length and breadth of both countries.

Joanne has had a wide ranging international HR and commercial career and until very recently was the HR Director for Stansted Airport, where she was one of the senior team involved in its £1.5 billion sale to Manchester Airports Group in February 2013.  Prior to that Joanne was HR Director and Acting Commercial Director for Heathrow Express, part of BAA, and the HR project director for the redevelopment of Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 2.  Prior to joining BAA in 2010 she worked in a variety of senior HR roles for PaperlinX, one of the world’s leading merchants of paper and communications materials, Inchcape and National Grid plc.

Joanne takes over from Liz Ogden who has been covering the role part time along with her role as the Director of Organisational Development for G4S plc.
