G4S responds to HMIP report on Tinsley House IRC

Her Majesty's Inspector of Prisons has published a report following an inspection of Tinsley House Immigration Removal Centre
G4S, Tinsley house

Responding to the report, Ben Saunders, G4S Director of Gatwick Immigration Removal Centres, including Brook and Tinsley House, said:

“This is an extremely positive report and it is encouraging that inspectors have found that Tinsley House is one of the best centres that they have examined.  I am particularly pleased that inspectors have acknowledged the good relations staff have built with detainees and that detainees’ feedback on staff was ‘exceptional’. This is testament to the hard work of our staff and their commitment to the care and welfare of the detainees that we look after.

“While the inspectors recognise that we have continued to improve over the past year, we are not complacent.  We shall be studying the HMIP report in detail and working with our client, UKBA, to look at how best to take forward the recommendations in this report.”
