Bingham was commended for his skill in monitoring and collating CCTV footage of a violent attack that took place outside a kebab house in Nottingham city centre.  As a result of Bingham’s actions the Police were successfully guided to the offender, who later was charged and convicted with the offence.  Paul was nominated for the prestigious award by police officers from Nottinghamshire Constabulary.

Police officers submit award nominations for non-police personnel going the extra mile in the line of duty.  The nominations are then assessed by an awarding body within the police department which makes the final decision regarding the winners of these prestigious honours.  The award is conferred by Chief Superintendent Shaun Beebe of Nottinghamshire Police.

Chief Superintendent Shaun Beebe, Nottinghamshire Police, commented: "It’s a privilege to confer this award to a non-police employee for his outstanding performance above and beyond the call of duty.  Highly trained private security officers such as G4S’s play an important role in providing security assistance in Nottingham city centre and enable the police to serve and protect our communities.   It's fantastic to be able to reward their efforts."

Andy Lane, Managing Director – Regional Security, G4S Secure Solutions (UK), commented: “We are delighted that one of our officers has been presented with this prestigious award.  G4S works tirelessly to help build safer communities and is immensely proud of the efforts of its employees.  Working in partnership with the police, we can utilise our expertise and skills to build safer environments.”
