The contract is to deliver services at Warwick Hospital and Stratford-upon-Avon Hospital. G4S will directly employ around 205 employees to provide a comprehensive range of facilities management services such as cleaning, portering, helpdesk and catering for patients, staff and visitors. In addition G4S Secure Solutions, the UK’s leading security company, will be providing security and car parking services.

G4S won the contract following a competitive EU tender process and will replace the existing facilities management providers. Existing staff will be given the opportunity to transfer across to G4S, under TUPE legislation, and additional staff may be hired to strengthen key service areas.

Chris Elliott, Group Managing Director G4S Integrated Services, commented: “We are delighted to have been awarded this prestigious contract, which builds on our long track record of working with NHS Hospital Trusts. I am particularly pleased that G4S Security Services are able to work with us to deliver the security requirements of the contract which is an excellent example of the Group’s strategy in action.

We have a strong reputation for facilities and security management in critical environments and we look forward to demonstrating the value of our services to the Trust and its customers in the coming years.”

Glen Burley, Chief Executive, South Warwickshire General Hospitals NHS Trust said: “G4S demonstrated the ability to provide us with excellent services and we look forward to working with them to deliver these services for our patients.”
